MONDAY 1ST APRIL 2013
April Fools we are not! Duality has been selected for LONDON INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL.
The festival takes place in the capital between 11-22 April. When we have news of a specific screening date, we will post so keep an eye here and on facebook and twitter.
FRIDAY 1ST MARCH 2013
Fantastic news! Duality has been selected for 11th Oakland International Film Festival 2013!
We are particularly thrilled that this is our first festival selection, showing in the City where Duality was filmed. So many of our cast and crew live in the Oakland area so its especially fitting and will give everyone in the Bay Area a chance to support the film they worked so hard on last year.
Duality will be screened 3 times during the festival, here’s the details we have at the moment:
April 6th at the Black Repertory Theater during the 9-12pm session
April 7th at the Black Repertory Theater during the 1-4pm session
April 7th at the New Parkway during the 9-12pm session
You can read more about the festival on their website
SUNDAY 18TH NOVEMBER
Today we are on the last day of our final sound mix at Halo Post in London. Andrew, Luke and re-recording mixer Richard Addis have been working hard on finessing the sound fx, dialogue and music. Its sounding really great!

A couple of weeks ago we finished the last of the VFX shots, thanks to our hard-working team of artists at Double Negative.
Jim has been finessing the colour grade to ensure it looks as good as it sounds.
We’re excited to be holding our London premiere screening on November 30th, shortly followed by a screening in California in early-December for our cast, crew and supporters.
We’re working hard on getting DVDs and t-shirts out to those who are owed perks from our Indiegogo campaign – trying our best before Christmas!
All in all it has been a very busy couple of months but we can’t wait to finally share the film with everyone that has supported us.
FRIDAY 24TH AUGUST
We know, it has been a while – we’re sorry!
We’ve been very busy with pressing on with post-production (alongside moving countries, finding a place to live, getting new jobs and getting married (very soon!) so we hope you understand the delays.
Jeff has been busy cutting the movie along with a teaser trailer, which we’re launching THIS WEEKEND! So, for the past few weeks we’ve been prioritising completing that. Along the way we have some fab talent join our team – sound and music editor Luke O’Connell & VFX artists from Double Negative including; Nik Brownlee, Richard Reed, Elouise Payne and Austin Rowland. We’re very excited to have them on board and their amazing contributions are really fantastic.
To coincide with the release of the trailer, we’ve re-branded the website a little – hope you like it!
SUNDAY 11TH MARCH
After a little rest and a set-strike, we’re back with a couple of updates.
If you missed the Indiegogo funding campaign, you can still donate via our Paypal account. Take a look at our campaign page for more details!
New photos! Behind the scenes photos of shoot days 1-3 are now online in the gallery. Thank you to Sarah Gerber for the wonderful shots. More soon!
Don’t forget… this weekend you should be going to see “John Carter”. Sarah, Jeff & Andrew are proud to have worked on this movie in length and your support is appreciated. It really is an epic and exciting film, we hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed working on it!
SUNDAY 4TH MARCH 2012 (shoot day 7)
The Weather Gods came through for us on our final shoot day, which was several exteriors in Downtown Oakland. Chris gave a few passers by a shock, got a pretty good work out and a fair few blisters (don’t run in your work shoes, ok?)… the rest of us managed to come away with just a little sunburn…
We rounded off a fantastic 7 days back at the “lab” with a final couple of night-time shots. What a brilliant cast and crew, we have been so fortunate and thankful for your amazing talent and dedication. Its a wrap! Now… onto post-production!
SATURDAY 3RD MARCH 2012 (shoot day 6)
Back in the Research Lab to finish off the daytime shots, then onto some interior car shots (how many people can we fit into a Golf?!), the parking garage scene with more VFX before it gets dark and then back to the Research Lab for some night-time inserts. A late night, a chinese take-out and some beers later, a tired crew leave the set with one day to go. Thank you for your commitment all, so very appreciated!!
FRIDAY 2ND MARCH 2012 (shoot day 5)
Finally… we begin in our hero set, Calvin’s Research Lab. The set began as a small empty warehouse in Berkeley and, with weeks of hard work courtesy of both Andrew and Sara Higley, the set was complete. And it looks pretty awesome. We have approximately a day and a half’s worth of shooting in here… with some tricky VFX shots too.
THURSDAY 1ST MARCH 2012 (shoot day 4)
“Week 2″ of shooting begins in our rented Interrogation Room set in Oakland. We managed to get through the scenes reasonably quickly and were able to move locations back to the Exterior Apartment to pick up the remainder of the shots needed there.
A little light on pictures for day 4… will have plenty soon once our “official” photographer Sarah Gerber has chance to sort through hers.
SUNDAY 26TH FEBRUARY 2012 (shoot day 3)
And day 3 completes a successful weekend of shooting!
HUGE THANKS to Alan Kropps and Café Zoe for our shooting locations today, your generosity and hospitality is much appreciated.
We are so fortunate to have a fantastic crew, special thanks for our PA and caterer-extraordinaore Dan Jones, impressive lunches for two-days running.
We also picture-wrapped some of our talented cast already – Lisa Renée, Bill Young, Carl Chamberlin & Sheila Ellis.
Here’s a couple of photos from today’s shoot… more production stills to be added to the gallery in the coming days.
SATURDAY 25TH FEBRUARY 2012 (shoot day 2)
FRIDAY 24TH FEBRUARY 2012 (shoot day 1)
Quick update after shooting DAY ONE of DUALITY. Firstly a huge thanks to Sarah & David Gerber for the use of their apartment (and to their neighbors for putting up with the disruption). We promise to tidy up before we leave tomorrow!
All good on day one, found our feet and a steady pace pretty quickly – really helps to have a talented cast and crew!
Here’s a couple of quick photos from today:
Check back again soon!
SATURDAY 18TH FEBRUARY 2012
Sorry for being a bit slow on the news…. here’s some updates!
We’re now less than a week away from shooting and are pleased to say that we have our full cast and crew ready and raring to go. We’ve got some great talent on board (see CAST and CREW pages) and we’re more excited than ever.
Still a couple of locations to confirm (as its a pretty ambitious shoot in terms of different locations) but with help of Oakland and Berkeley locals we are looking in good shape.
Our “base location” is Calvin’s lab, which we have been creating from scratch under the guidance of Andrew and our fabulous art director Sara Higley. We shoot this late-on in the schedule but it’s already coming together pretty fast.

Calvin and Jessica’s apartment is being shot at camera assistant Sarah and her husband Dave’s apartment in Berkeley. It’s first up on the schedule and we sincerely thank them for their hospitality!
We would also like to thank all of you that have donated so generously to our campaign. Every cent/penny will be spent on the film… we hope you enjoy the results!
